Sex Therapy for Individuals & Couples in Brooklyn and Beyond

What is Sex Therapy?

Sex therapy is a specialized, talk-based form of psychotherapy focused on sexual concerns and intimacy challenges. At Therapy Brooklyn, our licensed sex therapists create a non-judgmental, confidential space where you can openly discuss what's affecting your sexual wellbeing — whether you're coming alone or with a partner.

Sessions do not involve physical exams or nudity. Sex therapy is conversation-based, often incorporating mindfulness practices, communication strategies, and evidence-based approaches like Sensate Focus and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Our Methodology

We use a relational approach in order to gain an understanding of what is not working within the partnership, this includes an exploration of context, culture, and family history . We make space for each partner to feel heard in the room. We specialize in working with couples that have issues with communication, intimacy, infidelity, life events (loss of a job, arrival of a new baby) and those considering whether to end their marriage or partnership. We believe that change can occur with insight and action, therefore we take time to explore and understand what is not working while also taking an active approach by assigning homework. Homework helps strengthen techniques practiced in session and progression toward goals.
