Mira Kolluri, Clinical Intern

Introducing our clinical intern Mira! Mira is a current second year Master’s Student at Teachers College, Columbia pursuing a Mental Health Counseling degree. Her goal is to provide a safe space where all clients feel welcomed and appreciated. She uses an integrative approach, combining the use of REBT, and psychodynamics, depending on the client.

She believes one size does not fit all, and she is here to help guide her clients on a self-healing journey. She is also here to be a listener, and an advocate for your well-being.

The types of clients she typically sees include LGBTQIA+, BIPOC couples, and individuals who experience transitional issues.  In addition to using traditional therapies, she encourages the use of art and music therapy as a way to heal. When she’s not seeing clients, she likes to write poetry, paint, and take walks in the park. She is creative, kind, welcoming, and organized.

As a South Asian American, she has training in integrating topics such as intergenerational trauma, and coping with identity related issues. She believes that there is a lack of representation in the field for clinicians of color and she is here to serve as a guide. Her goal is to help people navigate through any interpersonal problems they may face. In the past, she has worked with clients in London who identified as POCS (People of Color) combating anxiety and depression. Her welcoming nature will ensure high quality care and she is very excited to be a part of the Therapy Brooklyn Team!
