Psychotherapy First Timers

Therapy Brooklyn is partnering with students in Master’s in mental health counseling programs in order to offer an initial free session to those that are trying out therapy for the first time.

First Timers Welcome

Trying out therapy for the first time can be daunting. We want to support you in getting your foot in the door by making it easy to schedule the first initial session at no cost. 

During this initial session you will:

  • Gain a sense of what therapy is like

  • Solidify your goals for therapy

  • Ask a therapist questions about the therapy process

This opportunity is perfect for:

  • People who are new to therapy and have never had a counseling session.

  • People who are open to working with a clinical intern.

  • People who have found the cost of therapy to be a barrier to accessing care.

How do I book?

You can request your first free session by booking a time in the calendar. Once you book your first session we will be in touch to confirm how to login to your virtual appointment.

How much will therapy cost after the first session?

We offer care on a sliding scale basis. Sessions thereafter start at $85, with spots open for lower cost based on financial need.

How long are the therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions are 45 minutes for an individual session and 60 minutes for couples and family sessions.

I am in crisis, can I schedule ASAP?
