The Kickback NYC is facilitated by Adina, a Chicago native who moved to the city in late 2019. Prior to the pandemic Adina realized that there were few Black spaces that felt comfortable for new people, especially those who identify as millennials. Adina has worked with clients and met others who have yet to find their tribe or community and, seeing the desire to feel more connected to others, sought to create a space for it.

In addition to discussions aimed to explore identity and community, activities may be introduced to deepen one’s understanding of self and the process of adjusting in order to better explore current supports and what other supports might look like.

If interested, some questions to consider are:

What does community mean to you?

Since moving to the city, what are some aspects of community do you miss?

How have you explored making connections with others and what elements do you feel are absent?

This group is for you if you recently moved to NYC and identify as Black. This group is an LGBTQIA affirming space.

The Kickback NYC will be held at 6:30P-7:30P on Tuesdays. to inquire about joining the group please email info@therapybrooklyn.com or use our contact form.
